Planning Commission

Made up of five (5) members, the Planning Commission is responsible for reviewing plans for the following reasons:
  • Subdivisions

    - required when a property owner would like to either combine multiple parcels into a single parcel or divide a single parcel into multiple parcels.
  • Conditional Uses

    - required when the property owner would like to use the property for something besides what is allowed as a use by right. Depending on the zoning classification of the area where the property is located, a different set of conditional uses are allowed. You can find a list of our zoning districts, use by right, and conditional uses in the Borough Code chapter 168 section 14 through 28 here.
  • Plans for New Development

    - required when a property owner is building new construction.

In addition, the Planning Commission and Zoning Hearing Board make recommendations to Borough Council regarding new ordinances and the zoning map.

Meetings are open to the public and are held as needed on the second Monday of each month at Borough Building in meeting room #2.

Please direct questions about the Planning Commission to Borough Manager, Robert Firek.
