Solid Waste & Recycling

Waste Management collects trash and recycling for the Borough of Baldwin. This service is paid for by your tax dollars. View the following flyer for 2023 trash and recycling information: 2023 Flyer.

Collection Days have not changed since 2019, but you can view the street listing here: 2023 Street Listing.

Note: Trash is picked up once a week and recycling every other week.

Recycling

Recycling is picked up once every other week. It cannot be in plastic bags. The Borough purchased recycling bins for every house in the Borough in 2020. These bins are coded to each specific property. If your property no longer has a bin, please contact the Borough.

*Please note that the bins are to be left with the property if a resident moves*

You do not need to sort your recycling, as we have single stream collection which will accept:

  • Aerosol can - if punctured and emptied
  • Aluminum Cans
  • Cardboard
  • Chip Board (ex: cereal boxes)
  • Junk Mail
  • Magazines
  • Newspapers
  • Office Paper
  • Plastic #1: PET #1 containers that are clear (ex: water bottles, dish detergent bottles)
  • Plastic #2: HDPE colored or natural (laundry detergent bottles)
  • Tin Cans
Recycling contamination has become a growing problem for Waste Management. Check out the following flyers to find out what exactly is contamination and changes to expect:

Special Waste Collection

If you have materials to dispose of that are not allowed in regular weekly trash collection (commercial chemicals, light bulbs, batteries, TVs, electronics, household cleaners, etc.), Waste Management will pick them up if you set-up a collection appointment. Check out this flyer to schedule an appointment: Home Collection Program

More information for the program can be found here: At Your Door Information

Leaf & Yard Waste Collection

Once weekly, for 6 weeks in the fall, Waste Management has a specific yard waste collection. All yard waste must be in paper yard waste bags, which you can purchase from home improvement stores, such as Lowes or Home Depot. If you have yard waste to dispose of at other times of the year, please drop it off at the Yard Waste Dumpster in the Public Works yard on Elm Leaf Drive M-F between 7am-3:00pm. The Yard Waste Dumpster is for residents only and dumping non-yard waste into the Yard Waste Dumpster is a punishable offense.
