Baldwin Borough 2021 Leaf Collection

leaf collection

BEGINS:       MONDAY, OCTOBER 25th

ENDS:           FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3rd

Leaf collection is on the same day as your regular collection day. Residents must use only bio-degradable leaf and lawn type bags, NOT PLASTIC BAGS, and place them along the curb a few feet away from your refuse and recycling cans.

Baldwin Borough residents are reminded to refrain from raking or blowing leaf and yard waste out into public streets and roadways. Leaves in the street often end up in and around Borough storm drains, blocking and obstructing the catch basin openings, which often times can result into additional downstream water runoff and flooding issues. Most importantly, in the winter as well, if the leaves cluster and then freeze in the drains not allowing catch basins to work properly, it can allow for potential ice buildup along that area. Ultimately, this becomes an even a larger maintenance issue for pipe clogging and flooding concerns when the Spring rains arrive. Keeping catch basins clean, open and unobstructed, is part of the Borough’s regulatory MS4 requirement and initiative.
